Missouri Unclaimed Goes Paperless

     The Missouri State Treasurer's office has gone paperless in their effort to make reclaiming your funds easier. In the last months of 2010, fifty percent of all claims required no paper. The Missouri State Treasury holds over $600 million in unclaimed money and property. The average amount waiting to be claimed is over $300 and there are twenty accounts with over $100,000 waiting to be claimed. [read more]

Texas Holds Over 2 Billion in Unclaimed Money

     Texas takes an aggressive approach to returning money to the people. Every year the state comptroller publishes the unclaimed property list. The list is shared with newspapers, put out at the state fair and published online. The Texas unclaimed property website was responsible for returning $163 Million to Texans last year.
