How To Search for Unclaimed Money
Contributed on January 3, 2011

To have the best chance of locating unclaimed money in your name, you have to consider first and foremost, that it is unclaimed. Two very common reasons for money ending up unclaimed are incomplete info and incorrect info. So considering this, you should always search for previous addresses, maiden names, married names, etc. This will greatly increase your chances of locating unclaimed money or property in your name if it exists.

If you would like to go even deeper on your treasure hunt for unclaimed cash, do the same thing for anyone you know who has passed away, to whom you were an heir. It can sometimes be difficult to locate previous addresses of parents and grandparents after they are gone, but the effort will payoff for some.
